Green, Low-Carbon & Sustainable Alliance Launched in Shanghai – Cotecna China Joins as Founding Member
On September 24, 2025, the Green, Low-Carbon & Sustainable Alliance (“the Alliance”) was launched in Shanghai, China. Initiated by the Shanghai Institute of Finance for Real Economy, the Alliance aims to accelerate green transformation and support high-quality economic development in alignment with China’s carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. The launch ceremony was attended by government officials and industry leaders, including HU Yong, Vice Mayor of Jing’an District, Shanghai, YU Zengsheng, Director of the Shanghai Energy Conservation Center, ZHOU Wei, President of the Shanghai Institute of Finance for Real Economy, and ZHENG Shaohua, Vice President of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law.
Cotecna China participated in the launch event as a founding member of the Alliance. LI Wenjiang, Vice President Cotecna North Asia, attended the launch ceremony and subsequently joined the thematic seminar on “Exploring and Practicing the Application of Energy and Carbon Data in Green Finance and Corporate Sustainable Development” where stakeholders discussed pathways toward a credible and scalable green economy.
The Alliance introduces an innovative “multi-chain integration” framework, linking the chains of industry, infrastructure, technology, information, and green finance chains, to create a cross-industry, full-cycle “green and low-carbon practice hub”. By integrating resources from leading enterprises, financial institutions, universities, research institutes, and industrial parks, this innovative model will break down traditional industry barriers, facilitate the efficient flow of resources and provide comprehensive support for green and low-carbon initiatives.
As a key pillar of quality infrastructure, TIC organizations play a critical role in ensuring data credibility, standard implementation, and compliance verification in the green transition. By joining the Alliance, Cotecna will leverage its global expertise in sustainability services, particularly its extensive experience in carbon footprint accounting, ESG compliance assessment, and green supply chain auditing, to support companies in enhancing their green competitiveness in the global value chains. Moving forward, Cotecna will collaborate with fellow Alliance members to drive innovation, foster cross-sector partnerships, and contribute to building a trusted and sustainable future.
