Cotecna is Officially Contracted as a Conformity Assessment Body for the Kenya PVOC Programme
On 19 February 2026, Cotecna is proud to announce that it has been officially contracted by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) as a Conformity Assessment Body under the Kenya Pre‑Export Verification of Conformity (PVOC) Programme.
The Kenya PVOC Programme ensures that all regulated products imported into Kenya are compliant with Kenyan standards. As of 1 March 2026, all shipments entering Kenya must be accompanied by a valid Certificate of Conformity (COC).
Shipments without a COC will be subjected to destination inspection at a fee equivalent to 5% of the approved customs value, as stipulated in Legal Notice No. 78 (2020).
For consignments originating from countries without an appointed inspection company, destination inspection will continue with an inspection fee of 0.6% of the approved customs value, subject to:
- A minimum fee of USD 300
- A maximum fee of USD 3,500
Plus, any applicable laboratory testing fees where samples are required.
