Certificate of Conformity for Exports to Egypt
Cotecna is authorised to issue Certificates of Conformity/Inspection for exports of regulated products to Egypt.
A Certificate of Conformity or Inspection is required for all regulated goods imported into Egypt. As a trusted partner of Egypt, Cotecna can help facilitate your exports under the GOIEC and NFSA conformity programmes.
I. GOEIC Conformity Assessment Programme
Cotecna is authorised by the General Organisation for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) to issue a Certificate of Conformity for exports of regulated products to Egypt.
Since 2012, we have been an accredited GOEIC company, entitled to accompany both export and import businesses through the Certificate of Conformity process.
Initially, the Egyptian government required companies exporting leather and textile goods to the country to be registered with the General Organisation for Export & Import Control (GOEIC).
In 2016, the Egyptian Ministry of Trade & Industry expanded the list of products covered by GOEIC among widespread changes to the customs clearance procedures. In order to continue to export to Egypt, factories, manufacturers or trademark owners of regulated products had to register with GOEIC. Our accreditation allows us to continue guiding exporters to Egypt despite the new regulations.

Egypt Conformity Assessment Process
Cotecna is a trusted partner to the Egyptian government and our mandate covers the physical inspection, sampling and testing of goods at laboratories accredited as per ISO 17025.
We can also conduct factory audits to ensure production is compliant with Egyptian standards.
To assess the conformity of a shipment, the Verification of Conformity process will take one of the two following routes, depending on the profile of the exporter:
- Route A for exporters with infrequent shipments
- Route B for exporters with regular shipments.

Under the GOEIC framework, Cotecna is authorized to inspect and certify a wide range of regulated products, including a wide range of products from electrical and electronic appliances to textiles and garments.

II. NFSA Food Conformity Assessment Programme
As a trusted partner of Egypt, Cotecna is approved to support the NFSA Food programme and perform a conformity assessment of food and beverage products.
Our role is to assess and verify the compliance of food and beverage that will be exported to Egypt in accordance with all regulations, rules and specifications approved by NFSA.
The conformity assessment programme aims to ensure the safety and security of food and reinforce consumer and client confidence in the food control authority.
NFSA Conformity Assessment Process
Cotecna provides efficient tailor-made verification of conformity services to help exporters comply with all regulations, rules and specifications approved by NFSA. These include:
- Documentary verification
- Laboratory testing at Cotecna NFSA approved laboratories country
- Physical cargo inspection in the exporting country
