Cotecna China Shines at 2026 SIC Soybean Oil Training Event
2026 SIC Soybean Oil Training Course (the Training Conference on Quality Control Innovation and High-Quality Development of Soybean Processing) was held in Beijing, China from April 16 to 17. Hosted by the China-U.S. Soy Value Chain Innovation Center (SIC), organized by the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC), and co-organized by the China National Vegetable Oil Association (CNVOA) and the China Oils and Fats magazine, the event brought together around 100 attendees, including industry institution representatives from China and the United States, domestic and international soybean industry experts, and business leaders. Together, they had in-depth discussions on advancing the high-quality development of the soybean industry.

Cotecna China was invited to attend the conference. Stone SHI, China Agriculture Manager, delivered a speech titled “Testing of Key Parameters and Risk Control for Soybean Raw Materials”. Addressing industry-critical topics such as soybean heat damage, impurities, and protein content, he systematically shared testing methods for key quality parameters, key points for risk identification, and full-process control solutions in light of the latest practices in soybean trade and processing.

Backed by extensive data and case studies, Stone analyzed the quality differences among soybeans from different origins and their potential impacts on final product quality. He also provided practical risk control recommendations for critical stages of the supply chain, helping businesses reduce quality risks from the source, improve operational efficiency, and ensure stable quality of end products.
In his speech, Stone shared the crucial role of third-party Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) organizations in breaking down international trade barriers and promoting supply chain transparency, in line with the latest national standards for grains and oils, industry regulatory requirements and trends. It was highlighted that impartial and efficient professional TIC services not only serve as a bridge of trust between trading parties, but also provide critical support for building green, efficient, and sustainable soybean supply chains. Stone’s presentation resonated widely with attending guests and sparked lively discussions.
During the Panel Discussion on Soybean Heat Damage, Stone joined fellow industry leaders in a dynamic dialogue focused on carbon peaking, carbon neutrality, and green energy efficiency. Participants shared technical challenges, proven solutions, emerging technologies, and market insights from real production environments, offering valuable data and hands-on experience to support higher quality and greater energy efficiency in soybean processing.
